Orange County Garage Floors

Epoxy Garage Flooring in Orange County

Mil-Spec epoxy garage flooring for Orange County homes, built on properly ground concrete with a lifetime adhesion warranty behind it.

Epoxy Garage Flooring Across Orange County

Nu Garage & Epoxy installs epoxy garage flooring across Orange County, from beach towns like Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and San Clemente to inland cities like Irvine, Anaheim, Orange and Mission Viejo. We have been coating garage floors in Southern California since 2004, under the same owner the whole time.

Those garages wear out in different ways. Coastal slabs sit in salt air and morning fog, and inland slabs take summer heat and hot tires. The fix starts in the same place: an epoxy floor lasts only as long as its bond to the concrete underneath.

Family and Veteran Owned, With No Salespeople

Nu Garage & Epoxy is veteran owned and father-and-son owned. Nathan Obermeyer founded the company and is still the person you talk to.

You will never speak with a salesperson. Everyone on our team is an installer or a product expert, so the person who quotes your floor knows exactly how it goes down.

Why Concrete Prep Decides How Long It Lasts

When a coating peels, bubbles or flakes, the cause is almost always the prep. Older slabs carry years of oil, sealers and patch jobs, and newer ones often have a slick, troweled surface that epoxy will not grip.

We diamond grind every floor to a concrete surface profile of CSP 3 to 5. Grinding opens the pores of the slab so the base coat locks in mechanically. Acid etching and DIY kits skip that step, which is why those floors start lifting within a few years.

A Lifetime Adhesion Warranty

In 2005 we became the first in the industry to offer a lifetime adhesion warranty on a garage floor coating, and we still do. We can offer it because of the prep and the Mil-Spec system underneath.

What Sets Our Epoxy Garage Flooring System Apart

Mil-Spec Coatings, Not Residential Kits

We install a Military Specification (Mil-Spec) coating system instead of the thinner residential kits most installers use. Mil-Spec coatings are rated for the thickness and wear of aircraft hangars, forklift aisles and military bases.

In an Orange County garage, that shows up as deeper color in the chip broadcast, a heavier clear coat and a surface that hot tires will not lift. Dropped tools and spilled brake fluid do not mark it either.

More Than Garage Floors

The same coating systems work on pool decks, patios and walkways, driveways and commercial floors. Many Orange County customers also pair a new floor with overhead storage racks and cabinets so the garage is finished as one room.

What to Expect From Your Installation

Most residential installs take a single day. We block two days in case the slab needs extra repair. On install morning we clear the floor, mask the walls and door frames, and start grinding.

  1. Inspection and repair. After grinding, we inspect the slab and fix any cracks or spalls.
  2. Base coat and chip. The epoxy base coat goes down, then we broadcast the chip blend and scrape off the loose chip once it cures.
  3. Clear coat. Everything is sealed under a polyaspartic clear coat.
  4. Dry time. You can walk on the floor within a day. The coating manufacturer recommends 48 hours before driving on it, a little longer on a cool, damp night near the coast.

By the next morning the floor is UV stable, so it will not yellow where afternoon sun comes under the door.

Orange County Epoxy Garage Flooring FAQ

Answers Before You Book

Does salt air near the beach affect a garage floor coating?

A properly bonded Mil-Spec floor with a polyaspartic clear coat holds up well in coastal air. The bigger risk near the coast is moisture during curing, so we time the clear coat around the weather.

Can an older slab be coated?

Usually, yes. Grinding removes old sealers and contamination, and we repair cracks and spalls before any coating goes down.

Do you need to come out to give a quote?

No. Most quotes are done over the phone from photos, with a guaranteed price.

How soon can I park in the garage?

The manufacturer recommends 48 hours. We will tell you the exact time before we leave.

Do you coat commercial floors in Orange County?

Yes. We install coating systems for shops, warehouses, restaurants and other commercial spaces. See our commercial services.
